Venting I've held a terrible Secret for a long time, I need to come clean..

I have been brewing Tea in a large wood mug simply because I broke all of my ceramic mugs while washing them in the sink(over a period of time), and being a poorcel that I am; I can't afford to buy any new ceramic mugs, or maybe I just can't accept the fact that my wood mug produces inferior tasting tea.
Tea leaves just won't brew right in a wood mug. IDK if the boiling water scorches the walls of the mug and some of the wood flavor seeps into my green tea; or the energy/heat dissipation doesn't properly, different laws of tea brewing physics... it just doesn't taste the same, and when I say the same, it doesn't taste good.
