Yeah, but unfortunately that coexistence includes sexual selection, pair-bonding, and being reproductively relevant; this is especially true in our current atomized society that lacks any solid collective meaning and has eroded much of what granted humans purpose in the past. It's practically impossible to truly overcome your needs for recognition and validation as a human, especially in intimacy and reproduction, which are highly fundamental and a primary biological imperative.

I tend more to think that the view of reproduction and continuation of one's and only lineage as the achievement of success is derived from inividualistic misanthropy, as if the rest of humanity weren't relevant to your happiness, which is something to be seen in retrospective in an "eye for an eye" kind of manner.

Well, I do see your point, but in today’s atomized society, contribution is abstracted, anonymized, and rarely converts into recognition or some form of belonging, not to mention it would still be a massively different type of belonging and recognition with lower social cost and investment. Sexual selection and intimacy aren’t framed as necessities because of some narcissistic obsession with one's lineage, but because they function as signals of social inclusion and personal relevance. Reproduction, in a sense, historically validated that one mattered enough to be chosen, serving as a form of hegelian recognition as well in the form of affection. When that axis is permanently closed, other forms of contribution don’t compensate psychologically, because they lack feedback at the level humans evolved to register meaning.

Yeah I guess reproduction, or sex overall can be seen as part of the social inclusion phenomenon and even contribute psychologically as a form of affection, but the fact that in the end it is the feelings of one's self who are determined by such factors, there surely is an extent to which this perspective is subjective and can therefore be shaped through reflection, although most of us modern men may lack that level of emotional maturity in the classic stoic meaning, which comes to what you said last, that it is not at the level humans evolved to register meaning (normally). In other words, my point has always been that this meaning is subjective since we are no longer fully instinct creatures, regardless of our capability of perception, which makes conception of ideas prone to be both reasonably and emotionally filtered.
