"It's better to have tried than not tried at all"
Nope. That's entirely dependent on who you are. If you're an ugly sub-5 male like me, trying in fact will just make your life and mental state considerably worse.
No matter how hard you try to socialize, grind, or meet girls, nothing will change if you're unattractive. The result will always be the same because human individualism is a meme and everyone is bound by the same instincts.
There is no magical unicorn woman who's going to pop out of the ground and save you. Even if you're somehow "lucky" enough to get into a relationship, the chances are she'll be abusive and just use and discard you. Look at Eggman. He managed to get in a relationship with a whale and guess what happened? She treated him like shit and dumped him.
You cannot change human nature by hitting the gym and dropshipping.
You cannot change human nature by reading self-help books.
You cannot change human nature by putting yourself out there and joining a club.
If humans were so individual and unique then we wouldn't have these studies that end with the same results with large test groups of 100+ individuals. We wouldn't see the same predictable and repetitive behavior on social media.
Normies and women like to prop themselves up as having unique personalities because they're self observed narcissists who are terrified of the idea that they're a dime a dozen fly that could disappear tomorrow with no effect.
Putting yourself out there is like sticking your finger in the cigarette lighter within a car and expecting not to get shocked.
