If a girl likes you, she will let you know through non-verbal means and interactions with you. She just looks at your face, finds out you're cute and then tries to become closer to you. She doesn't have to know you initially. Becoming lovers through being friends does exist though but it's not based purely on attraction. It's just that you're a guy who she knows, you're not chad but you happen to pass her looks filter (which never goes away), you're look reliable and have your shit together in terms of life opportunities. In short, you're simply convenient for her at the moment. It's a lot more complex than relying solely on looks but it STILL INVOLVES LOOKS AS A NECESSARY STEP. And also if you've been in a relationship before, i. e. preselection by other women. Then yeah, why not date you if she's single and has no other guy in mind.
