It's odd really.

Like I'm sitting here playing Battle For Wesnoth on Linux.

And... it's fun! Simple graphics and stuff but it's good. You really don't need ray tracing or whatever to enjoy video games.

They probably only push all that stuff to get more of your money, tbh.

Yeah, this weekend I downloaded some PS1 games to play on my phone and had fun. It’s like you said; graphics and all that other stuff just don’t really matter to me as long as I’m having fun

This true. Shame I can't enjoy anything lately. Enjoy man.

Shit is more fun than Easy Red 2 that people praise so much (muh content). Blowing npcs with a tank is always fun but only if it's aoe radius is not pitiful like in ER2. Low poly graphics also has nice charm to it.

Yeah if a game is well made it tends to hold up.

I'll look into this game. My knowledge of Battlefield games is really not great!

Was playing some Digimon World with some cheats, classic :feelsokman:

Hm does it play kinda similarly to Pokemon? I'm watching a video of it now hehe

I'm older so I remember battling the little Digimon virtual pets at school :feelsautistic:

That's sick, I never had one of those Digimon tamogatchi, but would've been really cool to battle with my friends!

But Digimon World 1's gameplay is basically just a monster raiser/auto-battler. It's like Monster Rancher, if you're familiar with that series. You basically raise/train your Digimon and then they automatically battle other Digimon in the field. You can give them some basic commands like, "Attack", "Run", "Defend", ect,. but it's ultimately up to the Digimon on whether they listen to you or not.

Yeah we used to battle them loads and people had this fixation with the idea that you could make it battle itself if you touched the keychain on the pins when you select battle and then quickly removed it XD

I think it did actually work tbh.

And ah OK I think I get it ^_^

I remember that Greymon was quite powerful.

Yeah i noticed this too. After Red Dead 2 and the last of us most new Games want to be cinematic and hhave a great style, but they feel empty and boring, without intelligent level design and smart dialogs.Meanwhile i can play resident evil 4 again and again and it doesnt get boring

Yeah I've noticed this too.

I usually phrase it that every game is like Shenmue now lol

Maybe it wasn't Shenmue that started it though and yeah the structure seems to be involve action intermittently in the world, like in those two you mentioned.

They're sort of OK but I think making every game essentially a movie too is quite a bloated design.

I finished RE4 on the Wii I think. That was a good game!

I'm sorting modding files into archive folders, it pains my eyeballs, but i gotta do it.

Even if in the end, it was illusory rumination from the Back of my brain.

Something has value, when there is a spectator.

Yeah you just get lost in the world and the monks are creepy af its like watching a tv show and often the plot is mediocre to bad. but it can work pretty well, it just doesnt feel the same anymore. But im biased as a nostalgiacel i think

RE4 doesn't feel as good anymore you mean?

I think the only other RE I've finished was 6, which I also enjoyed lots.

I've also played a fair bit of the original and Code Veronica.

I went and replayed through Outlast, and then Outlast 2 (first time playing the sequel) most recently.

Playing through the first game again reminded me of how excited, and badly I wanted to play the game when it first came out in 2013, and I was watching pewdiepie's play through of it at the time.

It was nice to play it again, but, like with most games it just doesn't feel the same as it used to. I'm sure that's down to my brain which feels like it's been fried over the past years, and just generally feeling miserable.

As for the sequel it was ok, I didn't really like the whole scenario of Christians bad, which felt like the message the game was trying to push. First one is definitely better than the sequel imo.

Why do so many sequels go woke lol

And then usually end up being the last game in the series because it puts everyone off.

That's cool that you had such a good time with the first game at least at first. I actually always got it mixed up with Amnesia! I guess there were quite a few indie horror games coming out at that time.

I'll check it out again as I don't think I've given it too much time in the past.

Ah yes I remember this one!

I don't think I've ever tried it. I tended to play games like FEAR 2 more as the horror was turned down (because I'm a wuss lol) and the action was turned up.

But I'll deffo watch a bit of this playthrough and... I do kind of want to try it but omg I think I'd jump out of my skin just like I did when I tried the original FNAF!

One strange thing about Wesnoth is not only that it's free and open source but also it is included in the official Ubuntu repositories.

That's nice of them ^_^
