We get a lot of LDAR, ER, ASMR, NASCAR, and RADAR music threads (well, maybe only the first two), but I'd like to go in a slightly different direction with this one. Post songs you find to be evocative of placid solitude, things you would listen to after you lost any and all desire to ever be one of them. Something that projects your consciousness onto a plane beyond merely what your eyes apprehend, that sounds like or treats directly the idea of accepting your removal from the outside world.

These all remind me of my last year of high school, probably the time at which this feeling was at its apex. I've gotten angrier since.

I love classic rock and this is one of my favourites from Bob Dylan. Beautiful song.

Pink Floyd. Yes. Comfortably numb. Brilliant lyrics I can relate to them so much. One of the greatest guitar solos ever.

Aphex Twin. One of the greatest if not the greatest electronic musicians. Selected Ambient Works 85-92 is something else. I love it. Especially this track.

Another great track from Aphex twin.

Ah yes. I remember listening to this one when coming home from a night shift at this shithole I used to work at absolutely stoned on some good herb. Brings a tear to my eye.

Frankie Knuckles RIP king of house. GTA San Andreas wouldn't be the same without this track. Pure nostalgia.

Great lyrics. Me with my bad habits I relate so much. I remember listening to this song on TV when I was a little guy LDARing at home while my parents were at work.

The song that made me pick up a guitar. I love everything about it. When I was a young lad I used to be a HUGE fan of blink I dressed up as Tom DeLonge and bought a strat because of him hahahaha so cringe but it was a great time eh.

This is a song by a band from my fatherland Latvia "Prāta Vētra" (Brainstorm) It's about a guy obsessing over a girl.
It's a special song to me, I heard it a lot growing up and I loved it even though I didn't understand any english back then.

There are many more great songs by great artists that I love but these are one of the few songs I listen to when I feel totally detached from reality. Know what I mean?

Indeed. You know music is the one thing that brings us all together. Eh? It's magical.
That's why I love it so much.
Same man, as close as something can come to being magical, in this world.
HUGE cope for me. Don't think I could survive, if I went deaf.

The Cure - The Same Deep Water as You
Joy Division - Interzone

Very good! Post-punk is just about the first thing I think of regarding this topic.

Nice thread. :feelsokman:

Classic, psych, and prog rock are also great for this sensibility. This one occurs to me as well:

As is IDM. I don't listen to much, but Autechre are probably my favorite. Reminds me of my Freshman year of college - distant and cold.

Actually Named Solitude

Totally man. Music is like 60% of my copes. I'd rope if I went deaf :feelsrope:
I'm on a verge of passing out but this is a great song from the 60s about dissing a gold digger slut. Bob Dylan I love you man.

Blackpill was a thing even then.

Here's a good one
Man that game give me the creeps.. I could never play it without having any nightmares for days to come.
I'm really only affected by jump scares in these games. It takes a lot to creep me out.

Quilt - Penobska Oakwalk

Ministry - Jesus Built My Hotrod

Pixies - Tame

Night Beats - Sunday Mourning

Good choices.

Spaghetti Western balladeering.

Quasi-industrial march to oblivion.

Melancholic ataraxia, sun-drenched satisfaction in privation.

Blissed out psych-grunge.

Well damn. Looks like you reverse image searched that picture from the guessing thread. I was always partial to Firewater for a nice balance of bitterness and refusal:

Yeah I searched it because the guy in the middle resembled me, and I stumbled upon one of their songs. The one you posted reminds me of the tony hawk game ost, and that's a good thing.:feelsokman: I'm saving the image on the youtube video to my potential avatar collection.
