Zizek is sort of interesting because he grew up in Yugoslavia under Tito (one of the more moderate and comfy communist regimes that was separate from the main Soviet Union), and remains sympathetic to communism. However, he seems to be universally despised by the modern left, in particular the American left. Chomsky fucking hates Zizek and so do a tonne of American left wing politicos. The modern western left (which is really a hybrid of Frankfurt school Marxism mixed with 60s counterculture) went in a completely different direction to the left in other places after WW2.
We know there is something very wrong with the modern world. Naturally, the instinct is to become a reactionary and long for a better time in the past when social rules that restrict sexual behaviour didn't unleash ridiculous hypergamy, creating problems. Incels, and other people who see the deep problems with the modern world, should not dismiss thinkers simply because they are on the left of the political spectrum.
