Is Vietnam a good alternative to Thailand?

I've been thinking of SEAmaxxing and although Thailand is obviously the best option, that's exactly what's putting me off. Knowing what a huge tourist destination Thailand is, I'm worried I'll get mogged by Chadstralian zoomers. For this reason, I've started to consider Vietnam, a similar country, albeit less visited. Would it be worth traveling here, or should I just go to Thailand like everyone else? If so, should I go to Hanoi or Saigon?

Yeah Vietnam seems alright. I've never been there but I've been looking into it, watching YouTube videos. There's a city on the coast called Da Nang, it's near beaches and stuff, that's where I'd go.

Most of SEA looks pretty great, Philippines, Bali, Malaysia. Thailand is apparently sort of on another level because of the number of beaches, the food, the low prices, the number prostitutes, etc.

Thailand is full of Chad tourists, especially in Bangkok. Vietnam is a better option if you're a sub 5. My dad went SEAmaxxing in Thailand last year and is going to Vietnam next year.

Nope. 10% tourist return rate vs Thailand's 50%. Much less developed tourism and sex tourism industry. For some that's appealing, digital nomads are flooding Da Nang from what I've heard
