Serious Is title the deciding factor between an active or inactive thread ?

I've some threads that I post get 20+ users online instantly while others hardly reach more than 5. Even if I post both at the same time which means users active online is not a factor. What is it?

It is definitely a factor in catching the attention of users.

I noticed my first post got a lot of views, but my thread on Esdeath didn’t get much attention. I think the algorithm works that way naturally or artificially select for posts that might be controversial

.is has an algorithm? Don't think so. You can only sort by date right so..

Depends on the subject matter more then anything, also threads allowing for discussion will always do better. Some posts are so detailed and thought out that by the time you finish reading it you don't have much to say or contribute or at the least I feel that way idk

But subject matter comes once a user clicks on a thread. Active user shows number of people who clicked on the post simply by reading the title.

Oh I see yeah I get what you mean in that case. I try to just browse by new posts but for some reason it doesn't always show them as they appear sometimes.

title is 100% the deciding factor for me but sometimes if i enjoy the op's other posts ill click out of curiosity
