Not that women really care about personality but being nice is seen by women as a low t trait and most nice men are average or ugly looking so they just equate being nice with ugly. Most chads are dicks, pricks, and douchebags so women equate being an asshole with being “hot”.

Probably some truth to it but indirectly.
Everyone tries to push their boundaries as far as their looks/status allow them to. If you're good looking enough that boundary allows you to be "douchy" and nobody cares.
If you're "nice" the reverse is true, you can't afford to be confrontational or you'll be discarded immediately.
