I’ve always thought of the potential repercussions in case there were an afterlife, but most of us deep down know that it’s all bullshit. If there was nothing before my present conscious life, why should I assume there should be anything after.

People get extremely uncomfortable at the fact they will cease to exist, but to be perfectly honest I feel that’s the best possible scenario for all of us. If you don’t exist you don’t have the capacity to feel any emotion whatsoever, so people clinging onto regret or misery in at what they didn’t do in the “prime of their life” is pretty much pointless.

If I kill myself right now, I won’t have the capacity to feel regret for what I did, I won’t have the capacity to approve of what I did to myself, either.

The reasons I haven’t done the job yet is there are three people on this planet that would be severely impacted if I did so, seems kind of selfish.
