I havent really read since the 5th grade (excluding reading assignments in school). Its been about 8 years. I'm willing to try any copes that dont involve drugs or alcohol. I just need a way to disconnect from reality and I feel limiting my internet time and reading will do just that.

I've recently started reading after not reading for about 5ish years, its boring as fuck but I'm forcing myself to do it (ngl i feel sophisticated as hell when i read)

Yes I like to read history books specially.

Who have time to read when there's short articles or videos of it out tbere

I used to enjoy reading back when I had an attention span and a desire to learn.

I can only read manga because I am too dumb for most books.

U guys are reading on this forum......

Its a good cope tbh, check out the book thread.

I can't read for shit these days. It just draws my attention to this inescapable loneliness and depression.

Yeah, it is. Though if you are low IQ, reading stuff like philosophy is too mentally draining to do very often. I like reading but it fatigues me very quickly.

3 years ago before I went NEET I did cope with reading books, I started to buy books and read them and made a mini library. Haven't read books in 3 years now but I think I'm gonna start again. Here are some books of mine:

Reading is gay

read the manifesto of ER

I wish I had the attention span for it

I didn't expect this level of ignorance on this forum. Just kill yourself if you don't like to read, there isn't one single smart person who doesn't read a lot

reading's gay lol

there's not a singular genius (born in the past 50 years) who hasn't watched tv
You are obviously joking so I am not going to bother answering.
It is a good thing that at least you are reading anyway, it not boring unless you are reading shitty books, what type of books are you into?

just recently bought my first 2 books in years. they're dune and atlas shrugged, about 100 pages into the latter, it's certainly intriguing but I just find so much more joy in movies and shows

No it's boring as fuck. But I want to start reading again.

read nietzsche's will to power, or listen to the audiobook

Ngl it’s boring af I would never do it unless I had a gun to my head

I would say so, I definitely want to pick it up during the summer.

Then you probably prefer literature books than atlas and essays. Remember that most of the greatest movies are based on books, just find one with the type of story you like and you will finish it before you realize it.

Except for very few books I always fall asleep while reading. Low IQ.

it's good, just don't become one of those r/books people who never grow out of shitty Young Adult novels

Might read Horses Of the Ancient later.
