Any criticism I see of lolicon is kind of retarded. Sure, you can be against the sexualization of irl children which is perfectly valid, but these are fictional. On top of that, they are drawn in a way that is very cartoonish and does not resemble reality. You could say, "but doesn't the sexualization of fictional children pave the way for actual pedophilia" well sure, but the same applies for violence, gambling and animal cruelty which are all shown in fiction yet we never blame any of these actions on fictional properties.

Some people are attracted to teenagers who look older than they are. In which case they aren't attracted to the physical markers of an ordinary teenager but normal ones for adults. It's just an image so I don't think it's harmful. Additionally, the demonisation of Lolis has brought several chilling effects, for example only having huge boobed characters and not having a lot of Chibi characters even though for normally proportioned characters, a lot is essentially "wasted" as it is low information (legs, belly etc. typically only have one color and no interesting details).

As far as lolicon as a genre I'd say its more problematic even if it could be classified as harmless. But porn is never harmless because it shuts down the prefrontal cortex and it can make a person more impulsive.

I don't know how harmful it is really but what is weird to me is that in the last few years especially on reddit everyone is going apeshit and there are constant discussions about pedos and almost always only male pedos. Some picture of a guy from some charity in russia with 2 girls - omfg he is a pedo, 100k upvotes. Even outside of reddit i hear of young men ranting about how some old guy made a move on some girl, all of those youtubers making vigilante like cringe "catch a pedo" style vids where they just offer some guy sex, it's all so weird and fucked imo, just doesn't feel natural to me. When i was younger i never heard or saw stuff like that.

People want attention and want to gain some sort of audience and what’s more of a justification for beating up autistic short dudes? Well, if they can catch them being pedos, nobody will question the pred catchers for beating them up. Plus it’s what gets you views on X and what not.

And you can tell the pred catchers really don’t follow their moral of protecting the kids since they’ll beat up an 18 year for wanting to meet up with a 16 year old, so it’s pretty obvious that they just want to beat up people for fun and record it for likes and comments lmfao.
