Is learning things slowly/not understand instruction/looking dull related to IQ?

I'm an inept at most basic jobs like waiters; even after years I can't do very much alone...I forgot the position of " mise en place " and I just can do basic manual labours while I suck at organization exc.
Also people told me I sleep on my feet exc.

I don't know if its related to low iq or non ntness

Have you been diagnosed? It doesn't sound like low iq tbh

I seem to be very confused in societal spaces and finding my place, but once I do I become some sort of automaton

depends on the type of job and how long you keep it

if you can't figure out how to do your job after a long time it might be low iq or something else
if you feel confused at first, but eventually become proficient it might be non nt

I've also noticed that becoming an automaton is not optimal for the autistic mind as I my mind will eventually drift towards ideas that are completely unrelated to my societal position/task leaving me in some sort of strange predicament

I was a waiter for a day, had the same issue forgot table numbers, their orders and handing out bills, hated every second of it. I have noticed I am bad at adapting to new things, it takes me significant amount of time to catch up compared to everyone else.

It's related to care.
If you care about learning something, you will learn it quick unless you think it's a waste of time. If you don't care, it will be harder to learn.

This is why it's easy for me to learn things in photoshop, but hard to near impossible for me to learn a 2nd language.
