Is it silly that many gamers think they're a small group when other platforms (like mobile) are huge?

I feel like quite a few people don't think that mobile gaming, Roblox and possibly even Switch don't really count and yet... these are the places where most people play games.

Strange isn't it really. It really isn't a niche hobby anymore if you include all the platforms.

Yeah it seems to go something like 50% mobile, 25% console, 25% PC.

Maybe he's not talking about all games on mobile but rather the classic definition of a mobile game from back when they were more simplistic.

I think PC would be 2nd, consoles are now on a huge decline. PS5 pro underperformed, ps5 still has no games, everything on xbox is on pc, and switch 2 only interest a few mentally ill fanboys that like to play two games 24/7 for the rest of 2025. I bet their switch 2 is already covered in dust since they are now done with DK and Mario open world slop

Hm that's interesting about the Switch 2. I haven't really been following it tbh.

DK looked quite poor to me.

Mobile games do seem to veer significantly more casual, I guess because of touch screen controls and it's hard to get fully into a game when you're just on the bus or something!

Console is already slightly more than PC and Double its amount if you consider the original shitch a console

I do struggle to find modern games that aren't political and don't have strange stuff in them.

I have a theory though that E-rated games tend to be much better in this regard.
