I'd describe it more as "boring" out there. There's no motivation to innovate new consumer products or entertainment situation because there's enough dumbassess impressed with the older models. Examples of this include movies, where it's been the same cape-shit from Boomer comics (ex. Joker), tv where it's the same assholes as 20 years ago (Rosanne, Will and Grace reboots, Conan O'Brien, etc). Even places like Las Vegas are shit because they just cater to migrant Mexicans who've never seen a building with reliable electricity where everyone can flush their toilet paper.
