Sometimes the pressure I get from not having a gf is too much. When friends and family ask why I haven't got one and what I am doing about it, it makess me feel like shit. I don't want to have to explain that I can't, that girls are repulsed by me, or lie about being with girls. I am seriously considering telling family that I am. asexual so they will leave me the fuck alone. Might make me seem weak as shit, but I am sick of having it tthrown in my face constantly.

Asexual would be better, because then you don't feel the pressure.

But not much better, because for some reason (age? isolation? depression? something else?) I am not that horny in general any more, but I would still want a partner to have sex with in general. However, now that also means I could not fulfill their requirement of "desiring" them. I mean, it's just another of many requirements I cannot fulfill, but it still stings.

If it means people don't bother you about shit, then you might as well just say that. If the conversation continues, you can try to re-direct it towards talking about asexuality (since it's probably exotic to them), the rise of the asexual identity, or w/e with a bit of research. Normies are v open to that kind of conversation in the modern day, shit like 'I'm black, let me tell you about my experience of racism and what BLM means to me,' 'I'm a fag, let me tell you about how I came out and found a community,' that kind of shit. They're sort of expected to, due to wokeness.
