I tried getting as natty as possible without roids - still scrawny as fuck after training. I'm content with being a lean machine

Every time I tried working out on my own I could only last a few weeks then go back LDARing. I'll try running again maybe now.

Exactly, gyms are overrated, some people genuinely like it but they mostly attract brainless trend following normies who couldn't come up with a better idea. Try swimming or martial arts or something else that intrigues you more.
