Felt like it was extremely boring when I picked up on it , never saw it's appeal in any way . I always wondered why it was top rated , ig it just gets bombarded by normies

Same, even before the anime existed it was top rated among manga. The idea isn't even good. In all fantasy manga elves have long lifespans, and there's a reason if no one had tried to make a story focused on it before. It's just not interesting enough.

Even before I decided I was going to watch a ton of random anime, I actually did try to watch Frieren and only got to like episode six or so, only to never return. I don't necessarily believe I found it boring, though—I just had no real desire to go back and watch it to figure out how the plot progresses. Although, I always did have a bad habit of dropping things randomly, so maybe I'll return to it soon and watch it just for the sake of watching it.
I know a guy who complains about this exact thing. I can't quite recall exactly what he complained about in particular, but I just know that he was generally ranting about how Frieren 'is good, but doesn't deserve anywhere near #1.' I just went along with what he was saying because I didn't know any better.

SoL anime can feel that way but for me it's comfy
I can see the pacing being a bit too slow for some people, but it doesnt personally bother me too much. But if your used to slice of life stories or long episodic shows. it's probably up your alley. is it boring no but is it for everyone no

It's episodic, chill, adventure and slice of life coded, so yeah some people like myself won't really be interested in it and that's fine. What i truly hate is normies hyping it to no ends and making it the #1 rated anime on MAL, it's ridiculous that frieren is above berserk, monster, hxh and other good shows. Like it's a nice and good show, but it doesn't really do anything incredible.
Textbook definition of a Slice of life anime. It is very overrated but it is definitely one of the best fantasy anime I have watched. If it feels slow/boring then its probably your preference and taste is subjective.

There's funny and charming slice of life and then there's boring cute girls railgun type stuff.
I don't watch anime but if it's being called boring it cant be overrated which means it's probably good low key. 30 some episodes of any show can get boring.
Its pretty unique, if you watch it at 2x speed its watchable and got some good fights

I thought it was extremely boring until stark (the main male lead) got introduced and then it got interesting because of the character dynamics of the main trio. So as long as you can get to episode 5 because before that it’s just 2 foids with the same boring stoic, phlegmatic personality.
