Discussion Is family more about blood relatives or who shows affection?

I'm watching a fairly recent Doctor Who episode and there's a line that goes something like "Family isn't just about DNA or a name - it's about what you do".

And I was thinking "I actually do think it's mostly about DNA" lol

So I made this poll!

By today's standards, it's only about actions/affection.
If unfortunately you are an incel, your family members wouldn't want to even be in the same room as you (talking by experience).

Probably they still tolerate your presence, a "friend" whom you "do things" will cut you off at the first possible opportunity. Family is somewhat forced to accept you anyway

To be honest anything else than genuine feelings is cope, you get no enjoyment knowing everyone is forced to accept you.

Brocel I've been there, in the end it's even worse than nothing because you get exceptations that never will be fulfilled.
Your family accepts you only because they have to, nothing more,
Fundamentally it's similar to betabuxx (= no genuine feelings involved)
