I'm becoming more and more convinced that EVERYTHING in life is a scam.
When I was young and naive, I thought "go to school. get good job. do honest work and I will be OK." When I got into the workforce I was greeted with backstabbers, gossipers and some people who put WAY more effort than others with next to no reward. Rich people dodging taxes and people "above" you dodging work and piling it on to people beneath them.
Does "making an honest living" even exist? Even if you're an HVAC technician for instance, you're pressured to sell bullshit to customers who really don't need to be sold to. The products you are selling are engineered to be obsolete so the company can make more money. In my mind, this is still more honest than being some type of a PUA life coach grifter but am I really correct about that? Is it "just business bro"?
People claim to hate "scammers" yet participate and watered down versions of these scams on a daily basis.
I still think jobs where something tangible is being produced like construction, trades, etc are less scammy but often those are shady. Especially trades like auto mechanics who are known to drastically overcharge.
Also, people claim to hate insider trading and nepotism but this is just how the world works. People always give preference to their friends and give "insider information" to people that they like
