Is anyone else here very short-sighted?

Because of my nearsightedness, I sometimes seriously consider killing myself.
I've been thinking about this for a while...
I look so damn bad with glasses.
Contact lenses hurt my eyes because I also have dry eyes.
Surgery is expensive, and if it goes wrong, you could basically kill yourself.
I've watched documentaries about botched eye surgeries and the people who killed themselves afterward...
There's no happy ending for my -9 diopters.
What should I do?
I just don't want to be -10/10...
I want to at least dare to go shopping or do everyday things...
I don't even dare to look anyone in the eye with glasses...They stare at me as if I were not of this world.
They can't believe that sub humanity can go that far, how can I even survive.
They're so damn thick.
I think it's over...
The close work of the modern world with computers and smartphones has screwed me, and my genetics even more.

I used to be but underwent laser surgery in 2016, I was 20. I thought it was safe and not that expensive (€2,500 including 5yr follow-up).

I have -1 or -2 and used to wear them in primary school. I took them off when I realised they were a nerf and my vision wasn’t that bad without them. -9 is crazy though. You can’t even live a normal life with those

Laser doesn't work for me anymore, I would have to get ICL lenses and this costs around 8000 euros

Sorry mate you had to go through all that. I am a glassescel too though my eyesight is better than yours.

I have bad eyesight so I have had to start using my other senses

Forgot to mention without glasses my dark circles are much more noticeable. :feelsbadman:

Yep, I never went to an optometrist or owned glasses though because my mother never cared and told me to "live with it". anything beyond 2 meters away from me is blurry, and I cannot recognize faces or details farther than 3.

And because I'm a broke, fatherless mutt, I might just have to live with it until I become a wageslave and can afford to get glasses :feelsbadman:
