Discussion Is anyone else annoyed by "debater types"?

The YouTube Political Debater culture really annoys me. Vaush types on one hand and Matt Walsh on the other. You can tell them because they will immediately start pointing out logical fallacies and creating like 3 counter arguments to anything you say. Like each conversation is a competition with scorekeeping, instead of a collaborative activity seeking truth.

A similar phenomenon I've noticed is people who listen to so many podcasts that now they (consciously or unconsciously) act like they themselves are in a podcast. Characterized by "bits" "riffs" and "hot takes."

The internet has made us sick.

Yes, all the contrarian stuff and one up manship is tiresome to entertain after certain things are already stablished as true. Honest debate can sometimes result in progress and learning
