Firstly, a full scale invasion is highly unlikely because it would be political suicide for Trump and the Republican party as a whole. Then there are the other superpowers that are supposedly "protecting" Iran, namely Russia and China. Russia is in no position whatsoever to open a second front (jfl at that thought) and will never nuke up the entire world, including itself, over that shithole. As it stands, China wants to avoid a full scale war with the West at all costs, as this would destroy the one thing that has made it so rich and powerful: international trade. In the foreseeable future, China will limit itself to proxies at best. I don't think so. They are certainly able to destroy Iran, but a war there would be 100x more expensive and bloodier than the one in Iraq.

Iran is not the aggressor here. It's destruction would put another target on USA and Israel, which would be receiving limited help after USA has spent itself destroying Iran. And we all know Israel is an unsustainable state: without external help they crumble.
