Yeah, I've only ever worked in minimum wage jobs. I didn't realise people at university were so attractive on average, just another reason I'm glad I don't go.

18 and have finished high school. I work as a delivery driver for a few hours a week which is a decent enough job. There is minimal stress or interaction required. I'm unable to get into any decent uni courses due to poor school results, but don't really want to go anyways. I hate schoolwork and having to attend classes. I'll just remain like this for the foreseeable future until I kill myself or I am somehow able to gain a sense of motivation (though I can't imagine the latter will happen).

I worked at McDonald's in the past and despised the job. It's far more stressful and unpredictable than delivery driving (I live in a small town and most shifts occur at night, so traffic is minimal. The timing pressures are also not very prevalent). The conditions were more hot, noisy, smelly and exposed me to a lot of grease. The pay was worse. The downtime was boring. The managers were more plentiful and strict. I had more coworkers and received fewer shifts. The shifts were less consistent. Coworker interaction was more prevalent and expected of me.

Do you live in the city and what was your age when you applied? The application process for me was extremely minimal. The interview essentially involved asking whether I wanted to work in the back or front area. That was the only substantial question the interviewer asked. The other two questions were asking what I was saving up for and what my favourite McDonald's menu item was.

Yes. I applied when I was 18. They didn’t even ask whether I wanted to work in the front or the back, I would’ve preferred the back, since I’m really socially awkward and most people think I’m “autistic.”

Makes sense you were rejected. They would be less willing to hire someone on an adult wage (I was hired at 15).
In hindsight, I actually believe working out the front would have counterintuitively been preferable despite the greater emphasis on interaction. I am very poor socially, however customer interactions almost always boil down to repeating the same few scripted lines ad nauseum, so they are easy to handle after having worked for a while. The back area, on the other hand, exposes you to far more casual and spontaneous interaction with coworkers. They constantly banter, joke and make casual conversation with one another and you are expected to do the same. I always felt out of place because of this.

Having higher intelligence could be a true escape from it all, if different classes of people acted differently. It would be a mistake to be concerned with what the dregs of your high school were doing with each other. But when both high stock and low quality women act as whores, that's when you know it's over.
