for context a month ago we had an argument about plastic surgery and my step "dad" came in he has an iq tested of 180 + from the documents ive seen and he was being completaly bluepilled "oh you dont need cosmetic surgery !!!!!!!!!!!" I had a therapist compare IQ to a PC's CPU. The better it is (or higher your IQ) the quicker you can learn new processes and handle them. But it doesn't reflect your actual knowledge. Just like a PC with the best, high-end and high powered CPU can still have a blank SSD, having high IQ doesn't mean you're knowledgeable.

Just like on the flipside, you can be smart with low IQ. Just takes you longer to learn things

Most conventional IQ tests can't measure beyond the 150-160 IQ level (standard deviation 15)

Unless it has a standard deviation of around 24 like the Cattell


I converted my Father's national rankings on a College Math Exam (mandatory to attend University) into a normalized z score that equated to a top 1 in 3,500,000 IQ white norms (+175 IQ SD 15)

You can do the same with the Math Olympiad or Putnam (top five rankings on Putnam are undisclosed tho)
