The young man stepped into the hall of mirrors.
Most mirrors were either sealed or had other men looking at them and seeing their own reflections—one man per mirror.
After searching, he found a mirror. A perfect, beautiful mirror. No other mirror could even compete. But there was a problem with this mirror. It was empty. The man couldn't see a reflection of himself. Looking at the mirror gave him great joy, but there was something missing. There was no reflection. Sometimes the man acknowledged this fact, but he quickly stopped those thoughts and returned to admiring the mirror.
One day, the man grew bored of the mirror. He looked around and found another. Different, yet perfect and beautiful nonetheless.
The man did this a few times, each time thinking that something was missing. He felt emptiness. Lack of satisfaction. No fulfillment. Nothing.
