As a result, the remaining individuals would be compelled to marry less desirable partners if they were not able to secure a relationship with a desirable individual in time.

I don’t know why you @‘d me, but I’m convinced the institution of marriage was a post-agricultural revolution development to incentivize women to select for men who were more intelligent / could produce more food, which slowly developed into a solidified hierarchy / caste system, to promote stability in child-reering, and to minimize disease spread via sex.

Women’s sexual instincts don’t care for any of this as their instincts are pre-agricultural revolution and they only select for a small portion of men that are genetically / physically dominant / can beat down predators, they are the same as polygamous ape species like chimps and gorillas.

Human religion / social narratives always beat down female sexual instinct / gaslit men and women into thinking that females aren’t sexual but more emotional / social in order to propel monogamy.

It’s such a strong lie that even in the light of the total destruction of the family unit / society / marriage, normies and weak people still can’t handle the truth, that there is no “love”, there is no “magical journey” with monogamy, and most women hate / resent their husbands emotionally but stick with them because society compels them to.
