I bought a smartphone just to have something to do in university since literally everyone ignored me until 2-3 years in where another guy talked to me a few times and it was because he was in the exact same situation. Also, there was one picture on the internet, didn't save it, where it was like the 40s or 50s, literally everyone was holding a newspaper and ignoring everyone else. The truth is most people outside don't care about talking to strangers, it was always weird and most of the time pointless.

Relateable I remember a few years ago when hanging out with my brother and some friends how we would sit and talk and eventually they would take their phones out one by one looking at facebook and other social media or dating apps and I would just look around at them and then say "well I guess it´s time to be social" and I would take my phone out just to make a point, it made me so angry that people are so addicted to their phones.

But of course it´s way worse in public seeing all the people mainly girls walking with their phones getting that constant validation through their social media I can´t stand them!!

Exactly that is why I feel bad for "zoomers" there was a thread yesterday about zoomers and it must be horrible they never experienced a time before technology took over, smartphones first came out when I was 16 and a few years after social media exploded. I feel like being born in the early to mid 90´s were the last good childhood a perfect balance between technology and fun without nowadays everything is about technology little kids having phones and Ipads I even saw a 6 year old girl take a selfie in a grocery store a couple months ago.

Do you really believe everyone uses his smartphone in the exact same way when i explained exactly why i didn't use it in that way? If someone wanted to talk to you he would, the fact that his device is more interesting says enough. Take away his phone and he will go do something else, look to talk to someone else, kick a bottle down the street, anything. But they won't suddenly want to engage with you just because you took one of their toys.

I certainly don't feel overstimulated when reading text online or doing work, going to the fucking library and spending time finding and going through books one by one is a colossal time waste unless the knowledge there isn't available online, and most of the time that's absolutely not the case. There is endless amount of academic material, wikipedia is not even touching the surface of actual information. If you are only using wikipedia then that's on you and it's not what everyone does because they are "braindead". For a supposed incel, you are quite resilient in just accepting the simple fact that people don't want to interact with you and even if you take every smartphone in the world, that will not ever change. Even most normalfags hate each other and don't communicate outside of the bare minimum of societal niceties. I prefer a group of women to be glued to their smartphones instead of getting bored and looking at my direction and start making fun of me.

You made a sweeping generalization and i simply pointed out that it isn't true. Many people use their smartphones for all sorts of reasons, not everyone is a teenager, they are in fact always the smaller group in any nation compared to the older people. Older people will use their phones to get knowledge about the world often whether it's news, work, whatever. Not everyone is a child or an instagram whore, so no the vast majority aren't like that.

They use their phones because the people around them can't offer a vast network of information and are rather uninteresting anyway, most people are. I don't see how what i said is therapist talk, it's what i saw from my life as an adult. Sounds like you either don't go out or you hang out with children. Kids don't play outside because they have better things to do like gaming, media or sports or whatever their parents sign them up for. Wasting your time on the street all day long was always a street urchin, low class stuff anyway. Even in the past decent families found better stuff for their kids to do than sit in the dirt all day.
