This is a very toxic view of the world, of looking at human beings as an timeless consciousness that always has the power to improve their own lives or manipulate their own reality.

Looking at human beings as an "self" and not as a process in reality, something that is born in an environment, in a time and is shaped by it, and not as an environment that is born in the being.

It's funny that these people say they are anti-capitalism and think so meritocratically, and there's no point in trying to isolate it only to the economic sphere because that's not how society works.

They like to act like the world works by merit, but it's really all about luck and connections. Some people are born with everything, while others get nothing. They blame you for not succeeding and attribute all their success to themselves, believing the world is just—because it makes it easy to blame those who suffer for their shortcomings.
