women in general love “shipping” attractive guys with people they know. their friends, coworkers, classmates, whoever. they get a thrill out of playing matchmaker when they think the guy is attractive especially if it’s their own blood. it boosts their own status too

when they keep you hidden, never bring you to parties, group hangs, or even mention you casually… it’s not “they’re just private”

it’s because they don’t want their friends judging them for having a brother who doesn’t measure up (you’re subhuman) they’re protecting their image.
