No one would ever think of Algerians or Arabs in general to be white
It's because Nafri/Moorish pirates took some Europeans as slaves, so some tribes are admixed with recent European genetics meaning a minority of them look White/Whitish.
Kind of a similar case for Brazil. Ofc it's not "White" and most "White" Brazilians are around 15-20% Native on average, but there's still some there who are White. I'm not sure the exact amount, but I saw a stat that the self-reported v. actual Whiteness were quite noticeably different.
A lot of them -as well as Argentines- also have German, Celtic, or North Italian admixture.

Many were sold to Ottoman Turks & other MENA elite who probably were around the Levant or Persia, but then ofc they kept some.
They did the same to Sub-Saharans but ofc Western academia will never teach you of this.
They even raided as far as Iceland of all places -impressive I must admit- and took some back with them.
That's why many modern Nafris have visible sub-Saharan impact on their appearance and at times, European as well due to the slave trade.
