What is often called "well-adjusted" nowadays is actually a measure of an individuals alignment with particular personality traits that resemble sociopathy/psychopathy.

Through a process that starts very young, modern children are shaped and molded. They are exposed to an environment that is psychologically harmful and destroys spirit and turns them into hateful, manipulative, individualistic types. For the education system, education is only a secondary goal at best. The primary objective of the schooling system is to break down and recondition human psyches. Males in particular are subject to the harshest discipline and scrutiny, they destroy the self esteem and independence that most males naturally have to turn them into effeminate social status obsessed simps.

The most successful people, both in career and social aspects, are usually those who were most able to lose basic human empathy and learn to view all relationships as purely transactional. Those who are able to throw even their own families under the bus for a bit of validation and brownie points. Those who have no morality thrive in the modern environment.

The modern human is an oversocialized sociopath. Most incels face social ostracism because they still retain their human nature and failed to be corrupted/molded by the system.

Depends on what you define as a win state. That only holds if you belive the individual/self is the only thing worth sustaining. However historically humans have not been and still are not individuals. We are a social creature. The widespread mentality of using others only as a resource will tend to burn out all pillars of society and end up making everyone weak.

For one person it certainly is logical to maximize and exploit others to your own benefit, but the institutions and customs you are exploiting will cease to exist once this kind of thinking reaches a critical mass.

For a concrete example take a look at current popular social media. People use their own friends and families only as a springboard to make videos and market/promote themselves. The end result is something inferior and insincere. Society doesnt thrive when everyone is selfish and uninvested in any other outcomes besides their own.
