Imagine living your whole life desiring something so simple as a romantic partner, but not getting one, not because of something wrong with who you are as a person or how you behave, but simply because of what you are. Something you can't change. Being appreciated and loved is probably the most basic need, and I know it would drive anyone resentful and crazy if they didn't get it. I am sure it would drive me nuts.


Now the worst part is that they aren't even allowed to share their pain or complain. When they do it calmly and respectfully, before they even start identifying as incels, before they are driven resentful, our society has a simple MO of gaslighting them, giving them stupid advice such as "just be confident," etc., which simply isn't true, but just a toxic social phenomenon that probably developed to promote social cohesion, as till now things were never as bad as they are now. It was just a practice to prevent social withdrawal by and of such men, but looking at it broadly, it's extremely toxic and selfish. Although I'd love to write more about this, it's not very relevant here, so that's something for another day.
