I've been a train driver for over 10 years. I've deliberately avoided moving up the chain of command into management because I am socially inept with normies and not good at office politics/groveling to my superiors.

doing the managers' jobs, his programming or engineering or whatever it is job, doing interviews, telling people they're about to be fired, picking up everyone's amazon packages, doing tech support for all his bosses if one of their tech toys breaks, etc

everyone under him thinks they are going to become management someday, when all the management jobs are earmarked for a few people that barely do them and 75% of the management work is done by the beta kingshit problem-solver anyway

Pretty common. 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people is the cliche.

Made a few hard workers, a lot of pretty people in management, and low tier ugly laborers.
