Since you have no digital photos/memory tokens/documents of a social life you intend to preserve for later age. You have no address lists, contact lists, correspondence, home videos and photos. Only shitty media, software and other impersonal crap you can easily download again.

Only normies will ever freak out and go like: 'my whole life is in that device! I need my data'. Saving data in the (((cloud))) has changed this somewhat but still, private citizen data recovery is for normies.

I have so many years of hentai curated from back in the day when we didn't have boorus to catalogue all that stuff. Doujins from sites that have gone defunct long ago. My files are actually kind of a curse, I've loved them for so long they kinda distracted me from trying to improve my inceldome situation. I didn't care. I had 2D. I didn't have a phone for a few years. My phone is basically an mp3 player that also serves the purpose of having mobile data for Spotify. If I lost my phone the only drag would be redownloading the thousands of songs I have saved.

If I lost all the data from my various projects I'd kill myself, which is why I back up to my external as often as possible

Also dude even outside the aspect of data what you're saying sounds retarded, these devices costs thousands of dollars, who the fuck loses 1000+ dollars and they "don't freak out", you have to be rich or something

I'd ask why you even have these devices if you aren't doing anything important with it, if you can afford to lose the data on the device, the device is underutilized

I keep most of my personal projects in (private) repositories on github and worthwhile photos/edits and texts in a blogging site. I am a cloudcuck that way - even scripts and config files to reinstall my linux setup in a matter of minutes on a 'new' second hand thinkpad. To me a machine is just a machine.

Always figured normies had personal devices for private use and work devices (owned by boss) for work with importatnt data stored on company server. From independent contractors I assume they keep back ups, just like you.
