Not only that but you cannot get rid of it at all in most cases. If you're willing to take antidepressant meds for the rest of your life then fine, it'll give a 20% improvement but it will never cure it. As soon as you quit meds, even after taking them for years and getting "accustomed" to the neurochemical changes - it will still fuck you up. The moment you quit, it'll all come back. Trust me on this one, it is a pointless path, not to mention most shrinks out there are fucking normie scum, especially ones like mine that go on maternity leave after spawning a maggot from her Chad bf.
That was the final straw for me after which I quit all my meds and said fuck you to the shrinks.
