For female life is easy, staying alive is easy, and so signs of aging has nothing valuable on female, even opposite, showing her loosing biggest value she has - youth and fertility. But for man life is constant fight, and man of older age is survivor, so should be appreciated more, as he didnt gave up, as he was not total moron who did some jackass and died. Modern culture going opposite in that, drowning underdeveloped minds of teen girls with images of young boys, and teaching that elder men are something to be disgusted of. And even anime is to be blamed for that too, full or young boys, and not enough elder men with signs of aging, who hang with teen girls, romantically and sexually interested in them

Women without help age horribly. Before botox, plastic surgery, skin moisturizers, etc., women were done in terms of looks by 30. If you look at really old photos, you'll notice that 20 year old foids would be taken for 35 year-olds in our time. Mind you, they have been cleaned up and plastered make up on their faces before taking these photos.
Yet, what was a fringe movement 40-50 years ago has been forced onto the mainstream. I'm an oldcel, and I'm old enough to remember that 40 year old women were not seen as sexy, and once an actress hit her mid-thirties her career was done, and if she ever got a role, it was usually playing a non-sexual role, like a Mom or a nun.
It certainly has gone the opposite direction --- a fortysomething with a 20 year old Chad: "you go girl!!". A fortysomething man with a 20 year old Hole: "eeeew"
