actually I wasn't even picked, I used to play alone or with 1/2 classmates max sometimes
I used to sit out often and only participated when I was forced to.
Sometimes, but there were some sports in which i was actually decent,
I skipped them, I was bad at every sport with a ball (so all the sports they played) and I didn't care about them. Normies getting invested on the game and emotional over who won and who lost was amusing to watch. Nothing is less entertaining than some idiots juggling a ball around, and the olympics are no different.

When i was in primary, however, I had a decently sized friend group who would pick me to play. I wasn’t really aware of my looks at the time, thus I wasn’t cripplingly socially anxious/awkward

I always played soccer growing up and was pretty good at it. But after changing schools so many times, I gave up on socializing and felt my best grow smaller and smaller.
When i done sports at the beginning I was always picked last and bullied, so overtime I just started skipping every single sports class surprisingly I missed like 3 years of sport but no one not even the school noticed or cared lol
