happiness asymmetry in life, either take the epicurean pill or cope, benatar has some good thoughts on this. essentially one of his antinatalist arguments, which i disagree with but still find interesting, is that the risk of having a child which gets in the % of people who have objectively horrible lives is too strong to be worth the risk
