That's the best way I can approach understanding the concept of "gay pride" that homosexuals feel - the idea that they are pursuing their own beliefs in contrast to societal pressures.

Given that we've gone a full 180 and homosexuality is being pushed on society and heterosexuality is being demonized, there's negligible pride to be found in embracing homosexual impulse.
They're basically "rebelling" against a negligible vanishing minority of traditionalist Christians with little power or influence.
