Mine died of metastatic malignant melanoma at 51 years old.

That's so sad man. It's never easy to loose a parent especially if you had a good relationship with him.
I am crazy so I don't really feel grief however from what I have seen people are really affected by it. I hope you get over it. Don't be ashamed to use substances, some people get drunk to get a death out of their system.
