Im 25, going on 26 this July and consider myself amongst the last group of my generation before the beginning of generation z starting at the age of 24ish. 1993 for the win! It's been an interesting position to be in seeing as how I'm at the tail end of a generation and yet close enough to get z to not be entirely out of touch with its youth culture.

After all by the time i was in high school I was basically doing the same thing as gen z, since we've had Similar technological upbringings. Both part of the internet culture and the rise of the digital age, the difference being I can vaguely remember a time where these things were still imurging.

It's been an interesting and unique experience having been born at the end of century and having been able to witness the beginning of the 2000s. I'm essentially living in the future to those from previous generations even though to me the future is more like 2050-2100 and beyond where I expect technology to really get crazy and eventually reach the singularity.

It'll be fascinating to see how far we can continue to develop our tech within my lifetime and perhaps if I'm lucky I might be able to reach the emergence of the indefinite lifespan via the merging of tech with biology. At the very least I expect to be able to live inside virtual realities and have human level artificial intelligence friends that are better then real life friendships and relationships.

In that regard i do consider myself lucky in being able to witness these things become reality, I certainly consider these times to be far more interesting then any other past era of humanity. This is in fact my biggest deterrent to roping, with sheer curiosity driving me forward. I want to see all the amazing potential scifi like tech become reality and plan on taking full advantage of whatever becomes available to me.

A lot of things we're currently experiencing has already happened countless times in history: corrupt governments, feminist hysteria, foreign hordes conquering an once great civilisation, even transsexuality and the idea that there are more than 2 genders was sadly already a thing before WWII.

Most technological advancements will only make our lives worse, not more interesting. The internet is ruining our attention-spans and turning a lot of people into dopmaine-addicts who stare at screens all day. It has also made social interaction for everyone but extroverts more difficult which is part of the reason why inceldom is growing among the newer generations. Life in our society is hell, really.
The media often portrays the middle-ages as a horrible time period but I bet it was more fun in some ways compared to our world; being surrounded by nature, getting a virgin wife and raising a family with her, not having to care about electricity bills, genuinely believing that you'll be getting everything you desire once you die which prevents you from being depressed all the time.

You are right in that most people are stupid NPC with nothing interesting to talk.

I, on the other hand, am amongst the first of the mellenial generation (I was born early-to-mid 80s). You're on the cusp, like me, and IMO you'll probably end up feeling more like a zoomer than a millenial, the cutoff is vague and generations are kinda bullshit anyways.
I kinda pity anyone who never got to experience the internet in the 90s and early 00s, when it felt new and exciting. I don't want to sound like that "back in my day" old guy, but honestly I think kids are being rasied in a very fucked up way these days and it'll come back to bite us all in the ass. I got raised in the midst of the pozzed liberal globalist explosion, but at least I grew up able to ride my bike and not fucking tethered to my helicopter parents signing me up for childrens drag yoga so they could instagram me for updoots.
Anyways, my copeahope: zoomers and the generation after them are either going to save humanity or destroy it in an act of vengence, and I'm comfortable either way. Anything but the status quo.

Thing is tho, tech doesnt develop en masse linearly. Moores law is effectively dead. Airplanes haven't increased their average speed since the 70s, the principles behind nuclear power are virtually the same since the 50s. There haven't really been any discoveries of antibiotics since the 80s.

The 20th century and its rapid technological development could be a miraculous blip in history, theres no reason to think the future will continue like that, there are hard laws built into the physics of the universe. There will never be flying cars for instance.
