I’m 22 years old and I’m 5’5 and I hate it. The thing is, I wasn’t even meant to be 5’5. How do I know this? Well, I basically starved myself from the ages of 12 to 14. The reason for this is because I had severe social anxiety, and because of this I was too scared to eat lunch at school. So I skipped lunch for 2 whole years. I only ate breakfast and dinner at home from the ages of 12 to 14. I was basically fasting for two years. And you all know that growth occurs the most during your teenage years.

What if I had actually ate lunch during those two years? Then I’m 100% sure that I would’ve been atleast 5’7 today. Or maybe even 5’8 which is my dream height. People might say that I was supposed to be 5’5 due to genetics. But diet plays an important role as well. Yes, both of my parents are shorter than me. But I have an older brother who is 5’8.

I have so much anxiety about my height that I’ve been having thoughts about wanting to travel to Turkey and get a leg lenghtening surgery. What they do is that they break the bone and use a device to pull the bones apart, so that the bones grow back longer. It is extremely painful and also expensive. Too bad it’s illegal in my country so I have to go abroad to be able to do it.

I’ve tried temporary solutions such as wearing shoes with platforms. But those are just temporary solutions. I want a permanent solution. I want to be the height I was meant to be. I’m a freaking dwarf. I’m below average height in my country. I’m either the same height or shorter than the majority of girls here.

brutal, i would definitly try the LL if i was u but it's better doing it at this time when you're young then in your 30s or 40s.

What is your race?

Its over

Height is 80-90%, some even say 100% genetics. Even if you would have eaten a lot in these times, you probably would have gained at maximum an inch or 1 1/2 at best

no point in complaining about it. either money max and get leg lengthening or find some way to cope

Never ate lunch nor breakfast at my teen years, didn't end up being a manlet. It's all in the genes

I‘m 5‘6 and its fucking horrible, i was tall as a kid and was supposed to be 6‘2 as an adult. My parents are average and my Grandfather is 6 ft.

When you say “supposed to be 6’2” do you just mean you would like to have been or do you mean someone like a dr predicted you would be?

Over for anorexiacels

I had terrible grades in high school so I will most likely get a shitty job with a low salary. And I’ve got no money for leg lengthening either. However, I do hit the gym. Will muscles make up for my height?

Better than nothing.

no, they will not. you’ll always be weaker than taller men and you’ll be seen as such

What happened? How did you know that you were supposed to be 6’2?

Well this is just a what if scenario and you cant turn back in time. The only thing that will permanently make you taller at adult age is LL

you are just like me fr

no, they will not. you’ll always be weaker than taller men and you’ll be seen as such
The only advantage I’m aware of is that shorter men can build muscle easier, because they have a smaller frame.

you will look more muscular but you will be weaker

I’d love to do it when I’m young, but sadly I have no money.

You must’ve gotten the recessive genes. It’s over
Yes...but not only for the reasons specified
But those are just temporary solutions. I want a permanent solution.
Maybe in the future they will find a surgery to help stimulate the pituitary gland and extend the period of growth for your bones. We were born at a hopeless time in mostly hopeless circumstances

Dont you will never jump swim and run again its not worth for 4 inches

It couldn't be 100%. Improved diets have raised average heights globally.
Japanese people for example have a healther diet than most Europeans countries and yet they are short

They dont eat meat
They maybe dont eat as much meat as we do but they eat a lot of fish and other seafruits which are high in protein

They do have a healthier diet, but they don’t eat as much. Most Japanese people are skinny.

Hard coping. Skipping lunch for only 2 years wouldn’t have that much of a effect. Some spaces even argue that fasting promotes growth hormones. Blaming another factor else because you can’t accept things the way they are is soy

Your new bone wont be natural its weaker like a twig
Again, you dont have proof for that. I talked to some LL doctors and they all told me that after about 1-2 years your legs will be fully durable, if you everything they tell you to. Its not different than breaking a bone normally, it will heal with time.

When you say “supposed to be 6’2” do you just mean you would like to have been or do you mean someone like a dr predicted you would be?
Predict + i would most likely be around that

Being 5 foot is a suicide sentence.
There is just no hope.
existence is a curse.

So why did you end up becoming 5’6 instead?
I have no fucking idea, i didn‘t starve myself too and ate lots of protein. Maybe it‘s my scoliosis and my torso is also pretty short and i have long legs so idk.

It can’t be just because of scoliosis. If you get surgery for it, you will definitely gain a few inches. But you won’t go from 5’6 to 6’2. Weird.
