Most of the fizzy drinks seem to contain sweeteners now.

I tend to buy American drinks or the few that still only contain sugar like Coke, Cherry Coke, sometimes Pepsi, Mountain Dew, etc!

And some drinks with sweeteners still taste OK like Monster Ultra!

Yeah they introduced the sugar tax which encouraged lots of drinks to reduce their sugar content and add sweetener instead.

In America the drinks have more sugar, it's HFCS, and no sweetener. Which means they taste much sweeter and smoother and have no unpleasant aftertaste.

We have sugar tax here too and I hate it. Soda is expensive and almost all soda available tastes like water with dishwashing liquid now. Some stores have soda imported from the US and my favorite by far is american sprite. I miss mountain dew without sweeteners. American and german incels mog when it comes to this topic.

Yeah because there's a sugar tax here most of the major drinks now taste different (and IMO very bad) as they swapped out a fair amount of the sugar for artificial sweeteners to avoid the price hike.

So even our regular Dr Pepper, Pepsi, Fanta (I think) etc have artificial sweeteners in them.

Some are still OK like Coke, Cherry Coke and Mountain Dew but it's not many.

Long ago, We got all upset over a 2% tea tax. Now 30% of our work is taxed and that's fine.

Hm, I think even if people are fine with all normal taxes, the issue with things like the sugar tax is that it results in most drinks changing their formulation so they include sweeteners.

I wish it were just as simple as all sugary drinks were a bit pricier! At least then they'd taste nice still!
