Discussion If you could pick a sport that doubles as a weapon of international politics, what would you pick? Or would you keep it to soccer?

With the World Cup going on, I'm reminded of how chess used to be a big political sport. In the end, the sportsball Chads prevailed because chess is boring.

But if it had gone your way, what sport would nations be coming together to beat each other at? Chess? Soccer? Some third thing?

Chess isn't boring, but soccer is just way easier for your average Joe to understand the rules of and follow. But if I had to choose one, it would probably still be soccer.
