LifeFuel if you can understand this video, then you probably have what it takes to be a mechanical engineer! (The GEARED CVT transmission has been invented!)

there's no balls, pulleys, cones, or belts! (like current CTV's) it's all just gears and leverage!

tbh, I can only barely understand it... but I also dropped out of college... I do however grasp the basics of it.

{ I suppose the reason I had a hard time with it, is because it's a new way of thinking about gears. }

as said at the end of the video, there's far more to it than just the gears.

this is far more complex that simple rocket science!

there's also, scaling, materials, sonics/harmonics, lubricants, etc... lots of little things that add up big...

anyway, mechanical engineering is a great career and anyone that is smart enough can have a satisfying life with it.

they are hiring!

it's an exciting time to be an mechanical engineer! I just hope I live long enough to get me a cool new scooter with one of these in it!

@VintageCarCoper thoughts?

if you don't understand it, then my condolences.

ok so my understagin is

there is metal wheels whcich turn

But there is a belt in a cvt transmission

Will watch later. This is very interesting, as I’m only used to the typical cvt transmissions

But there is a belt in a cvt transmission
In most of them. On bicycle CVTs they use balls instead of a belt because it's only one side of the transmission... (The crank sprocket is the other side)

That's why this new invention is such a game changer. No belts...

I’m a curry engineer and I can understand it

interesting design

I'm only interested in all of the math behind the engineering, which is fairly simple relative to some other mathematics.

Watched the whole thing anyway.

Nice. It's easier than fluid dynamics

I like to think I'll invent something cool one day
It doesn't have to be cool or new, but interesting and useful for your own life and use. I'm sure you've already made all kinds of modifications to tools and equipment you've found and used over the years.

Sure, it a fun cope.

Lately it's multi tool modding...

Couldn't understand a thing, yet I'm majoring in ME. How cooked am I?

Pretty cooked. Log off and get back to studying.

Ofc, there's many facets to me... It's not all just gears and ratios

kind of understand the splitting rotation. Sort of looks low rowing

The belt or ball kind of CVT is far easier to grasp.
I somehow missed that part. Reminds me of school when I used to put sticks in the wheels of bikes that used to ride past slowly and hear the crunch.

Those are earlier designs. Not mentioned in the video too much.
