You guys know Norah Vincent, the lady that lived like a man for 18 months and ended up offing herself because living like a man was just too depressing and hard for her? That was back in 2006, back before social media was as big a thing as it is now, and women’s standards were but a fraction of what they are now. Men were still much more respected by society, the economy was also much more stable back then, and the 2008 crisis hadn’t even happened yet. Imagine if she did that in 2025, I’ll bet she wouldn’t even make it through 2 full months, and that’s being generous.
Just something I think about from time to time. And women continue to argue that men live on easy mode.
