Yup. We also have to remember that human beings just got out of jungle, historically speaking ofc.

That means any perceivable form of physical unfitness (too old, too frail, too defective, ugliness, shortness) is seen as an uncoscious threat to the order and well being of the ENTIRE GROUP AT HAND.

These undesitables were taken, at best, to lesser roles in the tribe or, at worst, completely shut off from the get go.

That is to say we have an innate tendency to see anything that deviates from a desirable norm as an egregious error/mistake.
