Discussion If I ever ascend, I don't think I'd want to have kids.

It just seems cruel to me.
Life for me is very depressing and full with hardships, most of which wasn't even my fault.

And if I ascend, bringing another innocent sould into the mix seems selfish. I don't want my child to go through this hell, yes I would take care of him and love him - but there is only so much I can do.

Part of me wants to start a family and a homestead, live off the land and maybe homeschooling my child in a supportive comumunity. Making him laugh and teach him important things, maybe even play video games together.

Im still conflicted about this, but as of now I wouldn't want to bring a child into this cruel world.

What are your thoughts on this, would you like to start a family if you could?

I meant that I am already too mentally damaged at this point; I can barely take care of myself, hence the idea of taking care of a child properly seems completely inconceivable.

Same here. For one I'm too old, gamete quality will be poorer, and of course my energy and patience is thinner than it used to be.

Beyond that, most of my problems are due to genetic factors beyond my control. Since I would actually give a shit about the quality of life of any potential offspring, it's clear that I really shouldn't have any. I mostly don't like life, why would they?

Agree with you brocel, and if I do want kids, I’d rather adopt if I have the resources and capability to raise a child. God knows how many children out there needs a home with a loving parent, many children nowadays grow up traumatised by shitty parents. I was one of them.

Yeah same here, I like the idea of giving a child a good childhood - filled with love and support.
